Katherine Pettaway

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA), National Certified Counselor (NCC)

Effective conflict resolution has been a repetitive attribute that I have continued to strengthen within the last 20+ years. I always strive to find an efficient and effective way to resolve conflict so that all parties affected can walk away with a little more clarity and understanding as well as with the desire to want to bring resolution to the issue or issues at hand. I pride myself on treating people the way I want to be treated as well as listening thoroughly with empathy, compassion and an open-mind.

I believe in meeting clients where they are. I have served the domestic violence and sexual assault populations which included clients from the LGBTQIA+ Community. My theoretical orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on how thoughts regulate behaviors and how people respond to life situations.

My counseling approach encourages us to work as a team. I am here to help guide and encourage based on what the client decides is best. I consider it a privilege to be included in your life's journey. I look forward to having the opportunity to build a healthy therapeutic relationship that results in the growth and healing that you are seeking.
